Satara district and the Karad area have a strong base in agriculture and agri-processing: sugar mills, dairies, irrigation and spraying equipment, and the engineering shops that serve them. Satara MIDC and the industrial areas around Karad add fabrication, machining, electrical and component manufacturing. These businesses need plastic parts in two ways: replacements for equipment already running, and new parts for products they are developing.
AURO3D’s factory is in Savali, Sangli, about 75 km south of Karad and 120 km from Satara along the same highway. We print prototypes and spares on 12 FDM and 2 resin printers, and mould production parts on our own 250-tonne Haitian press.
What Satara and Karad buyers need
| Buyer | Typical parts | Usual process |
|---|---|---|
| Agri-equipment makers | Sprayer and pump covers, knobs, nozzle holders, housings | Print for trial, mould for volume |
| Sugar mills and agri-processing | Guides, scrapers, sensor mounts, replacement covers | FDM in PETG, ABS or Nylon |
| Engineering and fabrication shops | Jigs, fixtures, guards, cable clamps | FDM |
| Electrical and panel builders | Enclosures, terminal covers, brackets | FDM or resin, moulded later |
| Students and colleges | Project parts and models | FDM, resin, painted models |
The common thread is low to medium quantity, a part that is hard to source locally, and a buyer who needs it to work in a hot, dusty or wet environment.
Plastics for farm and sugar-plant conditions
Parts used outdoors or in processing plants face sunlight, moisture, fertiliser and chemical splash, heat and vibration. Material choice matters more than shape.
- PETG prints well and handles moisture and many chemicals better than PLA. A good default for printed outdoor parts.
- ABS is tougher and handles more heat than PLA, and it takes paint well.
- Nylon is the choice for wear, sliding and impact.
- HDPE and PP, moulded, are the standard materials for tanks, caps, fittings and parts that face water and agricultural chemicals.
PLA is cheap and accurate, but it softens at relatively low temperatures and is not a good choice for parts left in the sun or near hot machinery. See PLA vs PETG vs ABS for a fuller comparison.
New products: prototype in Sangli, produce in Sangli
Agri-equipment builders in the region often develop their own sprayers, pumps, attachments and controllers. A new product usually needs plastic housings and covers that look and work like the finished item.
We can model the part in-house, print prototypes for field trials, adjust the design after feedback, and then build a mould for the production version. Because printing and moulding happen in the same factory, the design you trialled is the one the mould is built from. Before any tooling, we run a free DFM check and show you the break-even quantity. We then quote the mould individually for your part.
Spares for the crushing season
Sugar mills and their suppliers work to a hard calendar. During the crushing season a stopped conveyor, sensor or packing line costs money every hour, and the original supplier of a small plastic guide or cover may be far away. The off-season is when maintenance teams rebuild equipment and would like to stock spares.
Both situations suit 3D printing. In the off-season, we can reverse-engineer worn plastic parts from samples, print trial pieces for fitting, and keep the CAD on file. When a part fails during the season, the model already exists and a replacement can be printed without starting from scratch. For parts near heat or steam, tell us the conditions so we choose the material honestly, or tell you when plastic is not suitable.
The road from Satara and Karad
The route is simple: south on the Pune–Bengaluru highway from Satara through Umbraj and Karad, then turning off towards Sangli near Peth (Islampur side). Karad to our factory is about 75 km, and Satara about 120 km.
That puts us close enough for a working visit. You can bring a sample in the morning, discuss it with our designer, and be back the same day. Our factory is at Kanadwadi, Savali, near the Ultratech RMC plant. Call +91 93568 71008 before you come.
For regular orders, we can courier or transport parts to Satara and Karad; we confirm the charge and transit time with your quote. Pickup from the factory is always free.
What to send for a quote
- STEP or STL file, a dimensioned drawing, or photos of the existing part with measurements
- Quantity now, and expected yearly quantity if it is a repeat part
- Where the part is used: outdoors, near heat, in contact with water or chemicals
- Company name and GSTIN for the invoice
Quotes are valid for 7 days, show 18% GST separately, and need a 50% advance to start. See how ordering works.
